Mary Fitzpatrick

Norwood, Ohio
I did a second career return to Grad School and in 2017 earned a MA in Biology focusing on how leisure learning venues like museums, zoos, aquariums, and park influence scientific thinking in the public.
My work career has been eclectic, most recently while in grad school I worked for Great Parks of Hamilton County as a naturalist and in the insect house at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Currently I am a museum experience specialist at a major midwestern museum. As a volunteer I have and been active in volunteer at Cincinnati Observatory Center, Cincinnati Dry Dredgers fossil club, Cincinnati Writers Project, and before its unfortunate end, Millennicon Science Fiction Convention.
To top that all off I have been an avid knitter since I was in kindergarden. I am almost completely self taught, but have a small side business making knitted felt soft sculpture alien pets and have had my work appear in Geek Knits.
Talk to me about Dinosaurs, gardening, knitting, steampunk, urban fantasy, trashy genre fiction, the genetics of red hair, cats... like I said at the start -I'm eclectic.
